In her free time you can find Kate volunteering at the local animal shelter, taking a Buzzfeed quiz, or hunting down food trucks in search of the perfect taco. One day Kate hopes to "flip" a historical home back to it's natural beauty.

Kate loves home improvement shows, music (especially Bruce Springsteen), and ice cream.

Just another day in the office... Happy (almost) ice cream day! Thanks for delivering the snacks @uber

Kate's Experience

She has had the opportunity to work on advertising campaigns for a diverse selection of clients such as; The Des Moines Playhouse, Drake University School of Journalism and Mass Communications, and the National Pork Board. Through her experience at Drake University Kate has had the opportunity to build her skills working with clients, copywriting, and collaborating with other young professionals. Kate has also played a role in starting Drake University's student-run, full service advertising agency, DU Ad-Vantage. She is proud to serve the executive board of Ad-Vantage as secretary, where she works providing students with networking opportunities, arranges meetings between Ad-Vantage staff and future clients, and oversees social media and communication of the organization.

This year Kate will be working as a photographer for two of Drake University's award-winning publications. She is excited to have her work published in Drake's independent student newspaper the Times Delphic, as well as student magazine, The Annual. She can not wait to work with these teams of such talented people and have the chance to expand her skills.

During the summer of 2016, Kate moved to the Denver area to pursue a marketing internship at From The Hip Photo. At her internship she produced content for the company's blog, monthly newsletter, and social sites, worked on specialized short-term projects with the owners and sales team, and helped coordinate and schedule special events while occasionally providing support to the lead photographer. She also got extremely winded while going up stairs. To see Kate's adventures new and old you can follow her on Instagram.
